David Helbock in Bad Liebenzell

David Helbock is an Austrian jazz pianist and composer, born in Koblach in 1984. He writes instrumental modern jazz for solo piano and small ensembles, and is known for albums including Think of Two, a tribute to Thelonious Monk and Hermeto Pascoal, Into the Mystic and Tour d’Horizon. At the Montreux Jazz Festival, Helbock took part in the solo-piano competition and received the audience prize. His concert formats include solo recitals, a piano trio and Random/Control, in which Andreas Broger and Johannes Bär move among woodwind, brass and percussion instruments. He has also performed at JazzBaltica and the North Sea Jazz Festival.
