About Planet Hemp
Planet Hemp is a Brazilian band formed in Rio de Janeiro in 1993 by Marcelo D2 and Skunk. The group plays rap rock and hardcore punk, pairing songs such as “Legalize Já,” “Mantenha o Respeito” and “Queimando Tudo” with outspoken support for cannabis legalization. Its best-known albums include Usuário, Os Cães Ladram Mas a Caravana Não Pára and A Invasão do Sagaz Homem Fumaça.
MTV ao Vivo: Planet Hemp documented the band’s concert set in 2001, shortly before a long hiatus. Planet Hemp reunited to perform at SWU in 2010 and later returned to major Brazilian festival stages, playing Rock in Rio in 2022.
