Týr in Geiselwind

Týr are a Faroese metal band formed in 1998, known for progressive folk metal rooted in traditional Faroese melodies, Norse history and mythology. Albums including Eric the Red, Ragnarok and By the Light of the Northern Star established their sound, while “Hold the Heathen Hammer High” and “Blood of Heroes” became signature songs. In 2008, Týr toured Europe on Paganfest alongside Ensiferum, Korpiklaani, Moonsorrow and Eluveitie. They later toured North America in 2014 on a package headed by Children of Bodom, alongside Death Angel. A decade later, they led the Battle Ballads tour through North America, supported by Trollfest, Æther Realm and The Dread Crew of Oddwood.
