About Banco De Gaia
Banco de Gaia is a British electronic project created by Toby Marks in 1989. Its ambient, dub and techno-based sound became associated with the 1990s electronic underground, particularly through the albums Maya, Last Train to Lhasa and Big Men Cry. Last Train to Lhasa was shortlisted for the Mercury Prize.
Banco de Gaia played the Megadog club circuit during the 1990s, then performed at Glastonbury Festival in 1995; that set was later issued as Live at Glastonbury. In 2015, Marks toured with a live band for the twentieth anniversary of Last Train to Lhasa.
