About Forest Swords
Forest Swords is the recording project of English electronic musician and producer Matthew Barnes, who comes from the Wirral. His music combines distorted guitar, dub-weight rhythms, ambient space and fragmented vocals. The project became known through the EP Dagger Paths and the albums Engravings, Compassion and Bolted; key tracks include “The Highest Flood” and “Crow.”
The release of Engravings led to international club and festival concerts, including a performance at Sónar in Barcelona. Forest Swords returned to touring around Compassion, and the project’s live history also includes Unsound in Kraków.
