About Girls Against Boys
Girls Against Boys are an American post-hardcore and noise-rock band formed in Washington, D.C., in 1988. Their sound is distinguished by two bass guitars, heard across albums including Venus Luxure No. 1 Baby, Cruise Yourself and House of GVSB. “Kill the Sexplayer,” which appeared in the film Clerks, is among their best-known songs.
The band reunited for concerts in 2009 after several years away, then returned to touring around the 2013 EP Ghost List. In 2022, Girls Against Boys played anniversary shows centered on House of GVSB, revisiting material from the 1996 album.
The established live lineup is a four-piece built around Scott McCloud’s vocals and guitar, the paired basses of Johnny Temple and Eli Janney, and Alexis Fleisig’s drums.
