Midnight Oil Tickets & 2026–2027 Tour Dates

Midnight Oil are an Australian rock band formed in Sydney in 1972 as Farm; they adopted their present name in 1976. Led by singer Peter Garrett, the band paired forceful rock and post-punk rhythms with songs about politics, the environment and Indigenous rights. Their best-known work includes “Beds Are Burning,” “The Dead Heart,” “Power and the Passion,” “Blue Sky Mine,” and the albums Diesel and Dust and Blue Sky Mining.

In 1990, Midnight Oil staged a surprise protest concert outside Exxon’s headquarters in Manhattan following the Exxon Valdez oil spill. They performed “Beds Are Burning” at the closing ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games in black outfits bearing the word “Sorry,” drawing attention to reconciliation with Indigenous Australians. The Great Circle tour returned the band to sustained international touring in 2017, while the 2022 Resist tour was billed as their final concert tour and ended at Hordern Pavilion.
