About Photay
Photay is the electronic project of American producer and multi-instrumentalist Evan Shornstein, who grew up in Woodstock, New York. His self-titled 2014 EP introduced the track “Reconstruct,” followed by the albums Onism and Waking Hours>, which explore experimental electronic music, intricate percussion and ambient textures.
A 2017 session at KEXP documented Photay performing material from Onism with a live ensemble. He later recorded selections from Waking Hours for an NPR Tiny Desk (home) concert.
