About Ra Ra Riot
Ra Ra Riot is an American indie-rock band formed in Syracuse, New York, in 2006. Violin and cello gave its early guitar pop a chamber-pop character, heard on the debut album The Rhumb Line and songs including “Dying Is Fine” and “Can You Tell.” Later releases such as Beta Love and Need Your Light moved toward synthesizer-led indie pop; “Water,” recorded with Rostam, became another key song.
Less than six months after forming, Ra Ra Riot appeared at New York’s CMJ Music Marathon, then played South by Southwest in Austin as its club touring expanded. The band went on to mount its own theatre and club runs and toured in support of Death Cab for Cutie and Vampire Weekend.
