About Camera Obscura
Camera Obscura are a Scottish indie-pop band formed in Glasgow in 1996 and led by singer and songwriter Tracyanne Campbell. Their music is built around jangling guitar pop and Campbell’s understated vocals; key releases include the albums Let’s Get Out of This Country and My Maudlin Career, as well as the songs “Lloyd, I’m Ready to Be Heartbroken” and “French Navy.”
In 2007, Camera Obscura played Coachella while touring Let’s Get Out of This Country. After several years away from performing, they returned in 2019 for concerts at Saint Luke’s and Belle and Sebastian’s Boaty Weekender. The 2024 tour for Look to the East, Look to the West included a converted-theatre show at KOKO in London and a homecoming concert at Barrowland Ballroom.
