About Low
Low was an American rock band formed in Duluth, Minnesota, in 1993 by Alan Sparhawk and Mimi Parker. The group became closely associated with slowcore through sparse arrangements, deliberate tempos and the pair’s vocal harmonies. Its catalogue includes the albums I Could Live in Hope, Things We Lost in the Fire, The Great Destroyer, Double Negative and HEY WHAT, as well as songs such as “Words,” “Sunflower” and “Days Like These.”
Low toured with Radiohead in 2003, then made a pointed festival appearance at Rock the Garden in Minneapolis in 2008 by devoting its set to an extended performance of “Do You Know How to Waltz?” Later tours brought the increasingly electronic material from Double Negative and HEY WHAT into theatres and festivals, including Primavera Sound in Barcelona in 2022.
