About His Name Is Alive
His Name Is Alive is an American experimental rock and dream-pop project formed in Livonia, Michigan, by Warren Defever. Its early 4AD albums include Livonia, Home Is in Your Head and Mouth by Mouth, while “Are We Still Married?” and “Can’t Go Wrong Without You” became closely associated with animated films by the Brothers Quay.
In 1993, His Name Is Alive performed during 4AD’s The 13 Year Itch concerts at the Institute of Contemporary Arts in London. The project’s home-recorded material was presented by a changing live ensemble whose central early voice was Karin Oliver.
