About Karate
Karate is an American rock band formed in Boston in 1993. Led by guitarist and singer Geoff Farina, the group plays jazz-informed indie rock and post-hardcore, heard on albums including The Bed Is in the Ocean, Unsolved and Some Boots.
Karate toured clubs across North America and Europe during its original run before disbanding in 2005. The band returned to the stage in 2022 for reunion concerts, revisiting material from its Southern Records catalogue.
The reunion lineup performed as a guitar, bass and drums trio comprising Geoff Farina, Jeff Goddard and Gavin McCarthy.
